A 1905-memo book from Bud Williamson’s General Merchandise Store at Piso, Kentucky.  The pencil notations tell us that not only was Williamson a dry goods merchant, but he also dabbled in the timber business.  With no calculators or computers, a blank memo book from a vendor, a lead pencil, and a sharp storekeeper’s mind made for the height of accounting practice in many country stores of the day.
